Anne organizes a PNAS Special Feature on “Monitoring and Restoring Gene Flow in the Increasingly Fragmented Ecosystems of the Anthropocene.”

September 22, 2025

Anne organized a PNAS Special Feature with Dr. Silu Wang (University of Buffalo) on Monitoring and Restoring Gene Flow in the Increasingly Fragmented Ecosystems of the Anthropocene! This feature brings together research from across the speciation genomics and conservation biology communities to address the pressing challenges of anthropogenic habitat fragmentation and biodiversity loss. Uniting insights from evolutionary theory, developing genomic technologies, and applied conservation action, the authors in this collection examine how gene flow can be effectively monitored, maintained, and restored to promote functional and resilient ecosystems in the Anthropocene.

Check out the papers featured in the Special Feature here! Anne and Silu wrote an introduction to the issue which you can read here and an associated blog post which you can read here.
